Veritas Access provides support for multiple file sharing protocols. Veritas Access offers unified access, which provides the option to share a file system or a directory in a file system with more than one protocol. For unified access, only certain protocols combinations are supported.
Table: Protocols
Protocol |
Definition |
Amazon S3 |
The object server lets you store and retrieve the data that is stored in Veritas Access using the Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) protocol. |
CIFS |
CIFS is active on all nodes within the Veritas Access cluster. The specific shares are read/write on the node they reside on, but can failover to any other node in the cluster. Veritas Access supports CIFS home directory shares. |
NFS |
All the nodes in the cluster can serve the same NFS share at the same time in read-write mode. This creates very high aggregated throughput rates, because you can use the sum of the bandwidth of all the nodes. Cache-coherency is maintained throughout the cluster. Veritas Access supports both the NFS kernel-based server and the NFS-Ganesha server in a mutually exclusive way. |
